How 2 Build A Website That Sells Your Products & Service
Below is the article I wrote that inspired the video above:
Regardless of what you’ve been told, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to build a website. In fact, today, I’m going to show you how to build a website that sells your products and services. Specially, we’re going to talk about the type of products you can sell, what web pages you need to sell those products, and how to collect money and distribute your product to your customer. Once you’ve digested this information, you’ll have the knowledge you need to build a website that sells your products and services.
What To Sell – Don’t be fooled by the myths of overnight riches being made on the Internet. In order to succeed online, financially, you need to sell products that people want. Not products that you think they want. There are twelve core product types you can sell, but starting out with an eBook, Book, Instructors Guide, or Audio program is a great way to begin. Brainstorm what you want to teach or share with people, outline your message, then create it. Congratulations, you now have a product.
What Pages To Build – While most people look at a website as some “fly by night” project, the people who take their websites seriously all know that they don’t need flash intros, creative graphics, and scrolling marquees to sell their products and services online. All they need are six core web pages. Out of the six pages, the sales page is the one you need to pay attention to. This is where you’re prospects slowly but surely gets persuaded to purchasing what you have to offer. Don’t get lost in thought, and think you need twenty pages to sell a product online. At the end of the day, all you need is six.
How To Collect Money – Once you know what you want to sell, and you have your website infrastructure (framework) up and running, it’s time to collect money. To do so, you’ll need a merchant account. If you have a lot of products (more than ten or so), you’d want to install a more sophisticated shopping cart on your website. But if you just want to keep things simple, you can use PayPal. All you have to do is create a “Buy Now” button, and place the code on your website. If you have multiple units of products to sell, PayPal can handle that type of transaction as well.
If you wanted to learn how to build a website that sold your products and services, then I believe you’ve just been handed the basics on a silver platter. What you ingested above is all you need to focus on to sell products online. With this information, you can now set up a simple website, and be able to collect money from anyone with a credit card who wants to buy your products and services.
